Shelby J. Minton, 75, of Williamstown, died Wednesday (Oct. 3, 2012) at Harmar Place Rehabilitation and Extended Care in Marietta.
She was born Nov. 7, 1936, in Beverly, daughter of Howard V. and Gaye N. Brown Hoff. She graduated from Beverly High School in 1954. She retired from Kmart in the cash office, after 17 years of service.
She was married Aug. 24, 1957, to Ward V. Minton. He died Oct. 28, 2001. She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Gill of Marietta; two sons, Clay Minton and wife, Patty, of Columbus, Ohio, and Matthew Minton and fiancee Teresa Isner of Williamstown; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Dawn Beck, Travis Thompson, Cheyene Reed, Shelby Gill, Allie Minton and Samantha Minton; five great-grandchildren, Abigail Raye Thompson, Aubriana Elizabeth Beck; three great-grandsons; an uncle, Paul Brown and wife, Brenda, of Waterford; and an aunt, Nell Smith of Marietta.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother, Gary E. Hoff.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Pastor Allen Minton officiating. Burial will be in Waterford Cemetery. Friends may call 1 to 7 p.m. on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beverly Waterford Food Pantry or the Haven at Harmar Place.
