Joyce Stanley Skinner, 60, of Marietta, went to be with the Lord on Saturday (Oct. 6, 2012) at Riverside Methodist Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Marietta on Jan. 11, 1952, to James Franklin (Bud) Stanley (deceased) and Thelma Gilchrist Stanley (deceased).
Joyce grew up in Marietta and graduated from Marietta High School in 1970. She attended St. Paul Evangelical Church. While living in Marietta, she worked for Big Lots, Walmart, and Influent telemarketing. Joyce loved children and her nieces and nephews were very important to her. Her cat, "Baby Girl," was her baby.
Survivors include a special "Aunt Midge," Margaret Stanley Johnson; a special cousin, Barbara Jo Reynolds; a nephew, Mark Bryan and wife, Dee; and a sister-in-law, Becky Bryan. Other survivors include several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews; her closest friends, Cathy Bineger and Becky Caldwell; and many friends at the Winberi Place Apartments.
Preceding her in death besides her parents are her brothers, Gilbert Eugene "Gene" Bryan and Alan Lee Bryan; her sister, Lynette Sue Stanley; a niece, April Lynn Bryan; her uncles, Bill, Wilmer and Bob Stanley; and grandparents, Frank and Lois Stanley and Bill and Bertha Gilchrist.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 13) at St. Paul Evangelical Church, 401 Fifth St., Marietta. Online condolences may be sent to email@example.com.
