Thanks for the help on Lowell school projects

October 17, 2012
The Marietta Times

I would like to recognize and express my appreciation for those who have contributed to the most recent projects at the Lowell Elementary School. These projects involved renovating the outside basketball courts and installing new flooring in the gymnasium. Anyone who has driven by the school in the past few years will agree the outside basketball courts were in much need of repair. The existing gymnasium floor was composite asbestos tile over concrete which presented a slip and fall hazard. The new flooring will provide a much safer surface for our students.

Those making financial contributions to the project include: St. John's Evangelical Church (in memory of Leland Brooker), Lowell Elementary PTO, Lowell Boy's and Girl's Basketball Associations, Lowell United Methodist Church, Fund the Fort, and WNBA Coach Dan Hughes.

Those contributing equipment and/or materials include: H and S Construction, B and B Petroleum Corp., Smith Concrete, United Rental, Bridgeport Equipment, Babcock Fencing, Triple I Trucking, Neil Wagner, Worthington Farm Produce, Architectural Interior Products, and Walter Mincks.

I would also like to thank everyone in the community who volunteered their time:

Joe Hupp (who coordinated the projects), Tate Ayers, Anthony Brooker, Kevin Wagner, Eric Brown, Joe Schilling, Brian Wagner, Ron Rainer, Neil Wagner, Charles Schilling II, Troy Fogle, Scott Hart, Wayne Isner, Jason, Barbara and Holden Barton, Nikki Brown, Sarah Pomeroy, Steve Wilson, Heather Ayers, Victoria Mimken, Heather and Hunter Mahoney, Susan, Cameron, and Bodie Hupp, Melissa and Russell Brooker, Dave Pitzer, Bob Buchanan, Dan Day, Donny Washburn, Mike Streight, Nathan and Cindy Worthington, Tom McNabb, Brayson Schilling, Ethan and Kelton Fogle, Tyler Bradford, Ben Wagner, Brian Taylor, Janelle Hinton, Michelle Angle, Logan Blair, Mike Hupp, Matt Dunbar, Ross Worthington, and Randy Bradford. I apologize if I left anyone out. I would also like to thank school custodians Jeff Arnold and Lori Williams and those who live in the neighborhood who had to tolerate the noise and inconvenience. The help provided by these individuals, churches, and businesses is very much appreciated.

Kevin L. Worthington, chairman
