JACKSON - Warren only trailed one time in the match, at the finish when Hillsboro's Kaylee Achor scored a sudden victory overtime goal to give the Lady Indians a 3-2 triumph.
During regulation time in the Ohio Division 2 SE District girls' soccer final at Jackson High's Holzer Field in Alumni Stadium Saturday, the Ekrem Eksi-coached Lady Warriors (12-2-5) owned a two-goal advantage on goals by Melissa Dickerson and Raelyn Gardner.
But top-seeded Hillsboro (17-1-1) was able to stage a dramatic second-half comeback and tied the match at 2-all on scores by Cheyney Myers and Kaylynn Bell to send it into an extra 15-minute session.
About midway through the first OT, Moberly beat Warren sophomore keeper Janelle Barth with a shot to advance the Lady Indians to regional competition.
During first-half action, Warren got a break at the 13:44 mark when Gardner, on an offensive surge, was fouled in the penalty area. On the ensuing penalty kick, Dickerson drilled it past Hillsboro keeper Rachel Sexton to stake the Lady Warriors to a 1-0 lead, also the halftime score.
Dickerson's goal was her team-leading 19th of the season.

Early in the second half, Warren stretched its advantage to 2-0 on a score by Gardner, her 14th of the campaign. Raeli Barnes was credited with an assist.
Shortly after Gardner's goal, Leslie Molen-coached Hillsboro reduced the deficit to one on a goal by Cheyney Myers.
The Lady Indians got the equalizer on a score by Kaylynn Bell with 18:40 remaining in regulation time.
Playing in their final girls' soccer match in the royal blue and white were seniors' Addie Barnes, Jordana Rauch, Mackenzie Ullman and Dickerson, all of whom were All-Southeastern Ohio Athletic League honorees.
