Harvest of Hope sunflower seeds

Sunflower seeds from the 10,000 Sunflowers project for Harvest of Hope are available as bird feed for donations through American Flags and Poles, 276 Front St., Marietta.

The seeds have been bagged and are being both displayed and stored at the former Rags to Riches storefront near American Flags and Poles. Seeds are available in lunch bag and grocery bag sizes. Any donations for the seeds will support Harvest of Hope, a community nonprofit focused on helping lower income people grow their own vegetables and food recovery from groceries and farms for area food pantries.

Fish and game club plans chili cook off

The Washington County Fish and Game Club will hold its first chili cook off at the clubhouse in Whipple from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. The trustees will provide the chili and the public will vote. The event is free with donations accepted. There will be a 50/50 drawing and music.

St. Luke's Episcopal fall bazaar Saturday

The annual fall bazaar at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 320 Second St., Marietta, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. There will be a raffle, used book sale, baked and canned goods, lunch of homemade vegetable soup, cheese and ham salad sandwiches and homemade pie and tombola, a game of chance. There will also be crafts and antiques.

Fulda church plans annual dinner

St. Mary's Church in Fulda will serve its annual Sauerkraut and Bohnen Brie Dinner Sunday. Serving time is 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The menu will include pork, sauerkraut, Bohnen Brie, mashed potatoes, homemade noodles, applesauce, rolls and dessert.

There will be bingo from 1 to 3 p.m., a craft table and a raffle drawing at 3 p.m. The event is open to the public.

The church is located seven miles east of Caldwell, off Ohio 564 on Fulda Road.
