White deserves support for commissioner

November 3, 2012
The Marietta Times

Let us take a minute and explain our support for David White, candidate for County Commissioner.

We know David as a friend, a businessman, a church and community leader, and a father.

As a friend, we know we can count on David to be available when needed. He has jumped in at a moment's notice to help and has proven he is a faithful friend.

As a businessman, we know David has always run his business based on biblical principles and treats his clients with respect and genuine kindness. My wife worked for David for a period of time and will tell you he is a very fair man who is easy to work for and get along with. He goes beyond what is expected to provide satisfaction to his clients.

David served for many years on his church board, spending eight of those years as treasurer. Having served along side David on that board, I can attest to his responsible stewardship of money, especially money that isn't his. David will painstakingly wrestle with spending money. He will not spend, or give his okay to spend money, on unnecessary projects and he refuses (in his personal life) to be in debt. That alone should give the residents of Washington County great comfort.

When David served as councilman for the city of Marietta, we watched very closely even though we don't live inside the city limits. We saw, as we knew we would, a man giving 100% to the job. It is our understanding the council position is part-time. David White treated his constituents to full time attention. We are aware of several situations to which David responded immediately and diligently to find solutions for those involved.

Our guess is we could ask any city employee who worked with David and we would get a good report.

We each have worked alongside David on a variety of projects through the years -his work ethic is unmatched. David is tenacious when it comes to relationships, both personal and business. We have watched David continue to work through a situation when most would have thrown up their hands and walked away.

As a father - well, anyone who knows David White can tell you he "trained up his sons in the way they should go." Both his sons grew to be fine, upstanding men with their father's guidance and unconditional love. When his family faced tragedy a couple years ago David proved once again to be a strength to others all the while holding fast to his faith.

We have known David and his family for over twenty years and can assure the voters of Washington County we will be getting a top-notch man in the commissioner's office.

We invite you to join us and cast your vote for David White on Nov. 6.
