Holiday decorating in Beverly begins

The holiday decorating of Dodge Park in Beverly will begin at 8 a.m. Monday with a second work time planned for 8 a.m. Nov. 19. Volunteers are encouraged to join in to help. Anyone interested can simply show up. The annual Beverly-Waterford Christmas Parade and Dodge Park Lighting Ceremony will be held Nov. 25.

Sunflower seeds are now available to all

Sunflower seeds from the 10,000 Sunflowers project for Harvest of Hope are available as bird feed for donations through American Flags and Poles, 276 Front St. The seeds have been bagged and are being both displayed and stored at the former Rags to Riches storefront near American Flags and Poles. Seeds are available in lunch bag and grocery bag sizes. Any donations for the seeds will support Harvest of Hope, a community nonprofit focused on helping lower income people grow their own vegetables and food recovery from groceries and farms for area food pantries.

Calligraphy class is offered at library

The Marietta location of the Washington County Public Library will offer a calligraphy class for those ages 7 to 12 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 10. Registration is required. To register, stop by the Youth Services department or call 373-1057, Ext. 219.

Dinner at Dale United Methodist, Watertown

A turkey/ham dinner will be held at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Dale United Methodist Church, 10 miles west of Watertown on Ohio 676. The menu will include turkey, ham, stuffing, sweet and mashed potatoes, vegetables, salads, desserts, coffee and cold beverages. The cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children 12 and under and free for those 5 and under.

Ribbon cutting at Woodsfield school

The open house and ribbon cutting ceremony for Woodsfield Elementary and Monroe Central High School will be at 2 p.m. Sunday. The ceremony will be held at the new sites located at 473 Lewisville Road, Woodsfield and 469 Lewisville Road, Woodsfield.

An Election Day bake sale sponsored by Sand Hill United Methodist Church in Reno will be held beginning at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Marietta Township Recreation Center, 260 Sandhill Road.
