MHS students plan presidential debate

The Marietta High School Young Democrats and Young Republicans will hold a presidential debate at 1:45 p.m. today in the high school auditorium. The public is invited to attend.

WSCC Players doing a double feature

The Washington State Community College Players will present a one-act double feature: "Trifles" by Susan Glaspell and "Locked Room Misery" by Jason Half, WSCC adjunct faculty. The shows will be in the Graham Auditorium at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. The performance is free. Donations will be accepted.

Library offers free computer classes

The Marietta location of the Washington County Public Library will offer the following free computer classes in November:

Introduction to Computers at 10 a.m. today. Learn about the parts of a computer, how computers work and what they can do.

Introduction to Spreadsheets at 1 p.m. Thursday. Learn the basics of creating a simple spreadsheet using Microsoft Excel.

Digital Petting Zoo at 6 p.m. Nov. 19. Come play with the library's collection of eReaders and digital tablets and discover which one may be right for you.

Computer Basics at 10 a.m. Nov. 27. Learn how to navigate menus, run programs, save and open files and print using Windows 7.

Getting Started with email at 1 p.m. Nov. 29. Learn how to set up an account and the basics of emails.

Computer classes usually last two hours. To register for a class, call the library at 373-1057 ext. 208 or stop by the library's Information Desk.

Marines anniversary celebration Saturday

There will be a celebration of the 237th anniversary of the founding of the Marines Saturday at VFW Post 5108, 319 Pike St., Marietta. Social hour will be at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7. The cost is $16 per Marine.

Cheer, dance teams

host craft show

Buckeye All Stars Cheer and Dance teams will be hosting a vendor/craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at The Rock Church on Ohio 339 beside Turner's Gas Station in Waterford. There will also be food and raffles.
