Open house at Help Me Grow office

In honor of National Parents as Teachers Day, Help Me Grow is hosting an open house and developmental screening at the Help Me Grow office, 202 Davis Ave., Marietta, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. All parents and families with children under age 3 and prenatal moms are invited to attend. Free developmental screenings will be offered to infants and toddlers under the age of 3. Refreshments will be served.

MC basketball hosts 'Madness' Saturday

Pioneer Madness will be held at 9 p.m. Saturday at Marietta College's Dyson Baudo Recreation Center to create some excitement for the upcoming season. The event will include a men vs. women 3-point contest, hot shot contest (with fan involvement) and a men's 5-on-5 scrimmage. The first 200 people will get a free shirt.

Steak fry Saturday

at Beverly Eagles

The Beverly Eagles will hold a steak fry at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The cost is $10. For carry out, call 984-4733.

Covered dish dinner, music at Marr

There will be a covered dish dinner and country music Saturday at the Bethel Community Center in Marr. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 6:30. Donations will be accepted.

Veterans Day soup, lunch at Lowell

The Lowell American Legion Post 750 will have a Veterans Day soup and sandwiches lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday.

Youth program Sat. at public library

The Marietta location of the Washington County Public Library will hold an activity for children ages 3 to 6 that includes stories, a craft and a treat. The program will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. To register, stop by the Youth Services department or call 373-1057, Ext. 219.

Beverly Masonic Lodge serves lunch

The Beverly Masonic Lodge will hold a soup luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday and Dec. 9. There will be all-you-can eat soup, sandwiches and dessert. Donations will be accepted. Delivery is available by calling 984-2826.
