Charles and Penny Whalen of Marietta celebrated their 35th anniversary on Nov. 5. They were married on Nov. 5, 1977, at the First Congregational Church in Marietta by Richard Saltzwedel.
He is the son of Charles C. Whalen and the late Erma Whalen. He is employed by Mon-Power
She is the daughter of Betty Bailey and the late Donald Bailey Sr. She is an RN and has been employed at the local nursing homes and home nursing and hospice.
They are the parents of SGT. Charles (Hollie) Whalen of Fort Sill, Okla. and Shyla Whalen who went to be with the Lord Aug. 18, 2001. They have four grandchildren: Charles III (Tre'), Isaiah, Karsyn and Noah Whalen.
