Several arts and crafts shows were held over the weekend at the Betsey Mills Club, Belpre Middle School and Tunnel United Methodist Church.
Noble and Monroe counties have had sightings of Alfie, a monkey that escaped from the Pittsburgh Zoo more than three months ago. The Humane Office of Monroe County has been actively tracking the animal with four assistants who make up the "Alfie Task Force."

Burglars broke into the dry goods store owned by F.S. Hood of Williamstown. More than $200 worth of merchandise and $10 cash was stolen from the store.
Washington County's Clarence Hadgers and D. Arthur Danielson have entered into the "acre of wheat growing contest." The contest is sponsored by the Ohio Department of Agriculture.
