Buckeye Bash Sat. at Shrine Club

The Marietta Shrine Club's Buckeye Bash will be held Saturday during the Ohio State vs. Michigan football game. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. with the game to begin at noon. The cost is a $5 minimum donation. There will be hot dogs and chili and a large screen TV. The event is open to the public.

Switzerland of Ohio board to meet

A special meeting of the Switzerland of Ohio Local Board of Education will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at 304 Mill St.,Woodsfield. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss River High School safety issues, consider approval of hiring an employee for a cleaning position at the Beallsville campus and to consider approval of a Hamilton's Auto invoice.

Free legal clinic 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday

The Washington County Bar Association and Southeastern Ohio Legal Services will offer a free legal clinic from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 320 Second St., Marietta. Walk-ins are welcome. The clinic is for those unable to afford legal representation (less than 187 percent of the poverty guideline).

Beverly-Waterford lighting ceremony

The annual Beverly-Waterford Christmas Parade and Dodge Park Lighting Ceremony will be held Sunday. The parade will form at Waterford High School at 4:30 p.m., begin at 5:30 and end at Dodge Park in Beverly. The lighting ceremony will be held immediately after the parade. The event will include seasonal entertainment and free refreshments. Parade entrants are welcome with no reservations required. In addition, a collection of dry and canned goods will be taken at the park for the Beverly-Waterford Food Pantry.

Immunizaton clinic closed for holiday

The Washington County Health Department's immunization clinic will close this week at 4 p.m. Wednesday and remained closed Thursday and Friday. Immunizations will resume Nov. 28. TB testing will not be available this week.

No Rumpke holiday

trash collections

Rumpke waste and recycling collection will not occur on Thursday. Service will be delayed one day during the rest of the week.
