Board to verify

election results

The Washington County Board of Elections will hold a meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the board office to certify the audit of the Nov. 6 General Election. The board staff will begin the audit at 8 a.m. The board will also hold its regular meeting at 4 p.m., following their certification of the audit.

Williamstown Lions to sell trees

The Williamstown Lions Club annual Christmas tree sale will start at noon Saturday in the park across from the city building. Prices are $25 to $50, with free delivery in town. Trailer-brooms are also on sale. Proceeds will be used for community projects.

YMCA?plans adult hoops tournament

The Marietta Family YMCA will hold its "Winter Classic" a 3-on-3 adult basketball double elimination tournament from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 8 at a cost of $50 per team. Each team will be allowed to have a maximum of four players. The games will be played in a half court setting. The brackets and rules will be sent out a week before tournament time.

Bird expert to

present program

Skilled birder Dick Eskar will host an evening about birding at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Learn how the annual Christmas bird count is done and see the results of previous years. Find out what species of birds are present through the winter in the local area. The program will be sponsored by the Friends of the Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge, located at 3982 Waverly Road, Williamstown.

Relay for Life kickoff event Dec. 10

The Washington County Relay for Life Kickoff will be held at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 10 in the Strecker Cancer Center conference room.

Holiday party

at Lower Salem

The Lower Salem community annual holiday party will be held at 4 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Lower Salem Village Hall. Soup and sandwiches will be served. The event is free and Santa will arrive with treats for children.
