The staff of The Marietta Times will soon be compiling the list of the year's top local stories, which readers can then rank at www.mariettatimes.com in order of which story they felt had the most impact in 2012. Youth theater show based on 'Little Women' story
The Mid-Ohio Valley Youth Theatre is presenting "Little Women of Orchard House" on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and also a matinee performance at 3 p.m. Sunday. The play is written by David Longest and based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott. The theater is located at 229 Putnam St. in downtown Marietta. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for youth 16 and under and may be purchased at Marty's Print Shop, at the box office one hour before each production or online at midohiovalleyplayers.org.
Ceremony to honor Pearl Harbor Day
Amvets Post 1788 of Marietta will hold a short ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday on the east side of the Putnam Bridge to throw a wreath in the river in honor of Pearl Harbor Day. All are invited to attend.
Lowell PTO craft show Saturday
The annual Lowell Elementary PTO Craft & Vendor Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 305 Market St in Lowell. There will be more than 50 booths set up, local entertainment, refreshments and prizes throughout the day.

Craft show, bake sale a benefit event
The second annual Touch of Christmas Vendor, Craft & Bake Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Beverly-Center Elementary School. All proceeds will go to Team Jillybug's Relay for Life Fund.

Holiday bazaar at Beverly Legion hall
A holiday bazaar hosted by the Beverly-Waterford Area Jr. Chamber of Commerce will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Beverly American Legion. There will be vendors, pizza and bakers goods.
