Lloyd Benjamin Hendershot, 96, formerly of Summit Street died Saturday (Dec. 8, 2012) at Marietta Convalescent Center.
He was born on Nov. 18, 1916, in Lower Salem, the son of the late Benjamin and Dora Pabst Hendershot. On March 4, 1944, he married Ada Beatrice Wallenfelsz and she preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 2001.
He was a army veteran of World War II and was retired from Remington Rand-Sperry Univac-Kardex in Marietta.
He is survived by two grandchildren, Mark Hendershot and Jill Hittle (Travis), both of Zanesville. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Hendershot of Zanesville; three great-grandsons, Hunter and Hudson Hendershot and Gage Hittle; two sisters, Marilyn Hendershot of Marietta and Olive Moore of Celina, Ohio; and one brother, Dale Hendershot of Marietta.
He was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Hendershot; and two brothers, Delmar and Clyde Hendershot.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday (Dec. 11) at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel with the Rev Linda Steelman officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday (Dec. 11) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Military services will held at the graveside.
