Town hall meeting about the 'fiscal cliff'
The National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare is holding a 'Fiscal Cliff' town hall at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 232 Third St., Marietta. Worried about your taxes going up? What about your Medicare and Social Security being cut? Come get your questions answered by experts on these programs and find out what you can do to make sure middle class families aren't hurt. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Piano trio concert Dec. 23 at The Castle
The Holiday Salon Series Trillium Piano Trio Concert "Bright Baroque" will be presented from 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 23 at The Castle in Marietta. For reservations, call 373-4180. Individual tickets for one concert are $15 for adults, $12.50 for members, and $10 for students. Conversations about the composers and their music as well as refreshments are included.
Space available for exhibitors at show
The 22nd annual Teddy Bear & Doll Show & Sale has space available for exhibitors.
Exhibitors include original artists of bears and dolls, collectors interested in selling and other merchants who specialize in accessories for teddy bears and dolls. Tables are $35 each.

Oak Grove VFD plans Santa Run
The Oak Grove Fire Department will hold its Santa Run starting at 1 p.m. Sunday. Santa will go through the streets of Oak Grove and visit children who come outside their homes to meet him.
Free meal, clothing giveaway planned
A free meal and clothing giveaway will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church, 503 Seventh St., Marietta. The event is held the third Saturday every month.
MHS plans Holiday Homecoming Dec. 21
Marietta High School's annual Holiday Homecoming will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 21 in the high school library. All alumni and former and present employees are welcome to come enjoy refreshments, music, old yearbooks and displays.
Live nativity will be at Sweetapple Farm
A live nativity will be held at 6:20 and 7:20 p.m. Dec. 22 and 23 at Sweetapple Farm in Vincent.
