Winter sing Jan. 5

at Cutler center

Jim Blair and Friends will hold a winter sing from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 5 at the Cutler Community Center. Food and drinks will be available. Donations are appreciated.

Life Line Screening in Williamstown

First Baptist Church in Williamstown will host a Life Line Screening Jan. 15 at 431 Highland Ave, Willaimstown. Residents living in and around Williamstown can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke or bone fracture. Packages start at $149. All five screenings take 60 to 90 minutes to complete. Pre-registration is required.

Beginner ballroom dance class Jan. 4

A new beginner ballroom dance class will begin in Marietta in the Betsey Mills Club gym at 5:45 p.m. Jan. 4. Classes will be taught by Bill Held and are open to all ages. Partners are required. The cost is $100 per couple for the 10-week session. New students are requested to pre-register by email to Sue Montera at suemontera@suddenlink.net or by calling 376-0775.

Holiday bike tour Wednesday night

The 17th annual Holiday Lights Bicycle Tour sponsored by the Marietta Rowing and Cycling Club and the First Unitarian Universalist Church will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday starting from the church at the corners of Third and Putnam streets. Volunteers are being sought to assist with traffic safety and refreshments at the church after the ride. The free ride is six to 10 miles around Marietta city streets to enjoy decorations and fellowship. Riders must wear helmets and have lights on bikes. Those under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Christmas Cantata to be performed twice

Souls Harbor Baptist Church, 115 Caywood Road, Marietta, will hold a Christmas Cantata. Performances will be at 7 p.m. today and 7 p.m. Sunday. The audience will see how a young child, through the recent death of her mother, reveals to her saddened father the true meaning of Christmas.
