Elizabeth M. Gilchrist and H. Dean Cummings were married on Dec. 22, 1962, at the home of the bride's parents, Sarah Esther and Carl K. Gilchrist in Charleston, W. Va. Dr. Truman W. Potter, minister of Christ Church Methodist, officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The couple came to Marietta in 1965 and were both members of the music faculty at Marietta College until their retirement 33 years later. He was chairman of the music department for 12 years at Marietta College.
She maintains a class of private piano students in their home. He is Sanctuary Choir director at First Baptist Church in Marietta and she is the organist.
They will celebrate with family coming to Marietta from Charleston on Dec. 22.
