BOE's organizational meeting set for Jan. 7

The Switzerland of Ohio Local Schools Board of Education will hold its organizational meeting at 5 p.m. Jan. 7 in the Board of Education Office, 304 Mill St., Woodsfield.

Masonic lodge soup luncheon next month

The Beverly Masonic Lodge will hold a soup luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 13 with four kinds of soup, sandwiches and dessert. Donations will be accepted.

End of year meeting for township trustees

The Muskingum Township Trustees will hold their end of year meeting at 8 a.m. Monday. The meeting will be held at the Muskingum Township Hall located at 26 Townhall Road in Devola.

Archaeology event at museum on Jan. 19

"Digging the Past: Archaeology Day" will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Campus Martius Museum on Second Street in Marietta. The cost is regular museum admission.

The event will include an artifact identification clinic, lectures and flint knapping demonstrations. Private collections of historic and prehistoric artifacts will also be on display. Contemporary items will be on sale for the day.

Annual bridal event set for Jan. 6 at MC

Bridal Extravaganza 2013 will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Jan. 6 at Dyson Baudo Recreation Center at Marietta College. Registration is at 12:30. Admission is $5 per person.

Vincent food pantry plans clothing sale

The Western Washington County Food Pantry in Vincent will hold a $2-a-bag Christmas clothing sale through Monday. The hours are 10 .m. to 1 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and 1 to 4 p.m. and 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursdays.

Life Line Screening at Williamstown church

First Baptist Church in Williamstown will host a Life Line Screening Jan. 15 at 431 Highland Ave, Willaimstown. Residents living in and around Williamstown can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke or bone fracture. Packages start at $149. Pre-registration is required.
