Leona Albrecht, 93, of Heartland of Marietta, formerly of 401 Victoria Ave., Williamstown, died at 2:35 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 27, 2012) at Heartland.
Leona was born April, 10, 1919, at Gravel Bank to Daniel and Lettie Porter Reynolds.
She graduated from Marietta High School and attended Marietta College.
On April 18, 1942, she married Henry Albrecht and they were married 68 years. Leona was not only a homemaker but she enjoyed sewing, playing the piano, bird watching, and was a cat lover as well. She also enjoyed her cup of coffee.
Leona was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by four children: Larry (Sandy) Albrecht, Stephen (Jean) Albrecht, Justina Allphin, and Jeannette (Bill) Flowers; nine grandchildren, Brian Albrecht of Dayton, Ohio, Jennifer Albrecht, Jason Albrecht, both of Marietta, Kimberly Albrecht, New Orleans, Jeremy (Courtney) Albrecht, Columbus, Andrew Allphin, Vienna, Adam Allphin, Alexandria Flowers, and Elizabeth Flowers all of Williamstown; three great-grandchildren, Alex and Anderson Allphin, and Stella Albrecht. In addition to her husband Henry, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Ivron, Lawrence, and Delbert Reynolds.
Services will be 10 a.m., Monday (Dec. 31) at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Msgr. John Michael Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday (Dec. 30) at Hadley Funeral Home, 500 Fifth St., Marietta. Burial will be at East Lawn Mausoleum.
