Free community lunch at First Baptist

There will be a free community lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 12 at First Baptist Church, 301 Fourth St.. All are invited to attend this free lunch.

Benefit gospel sing, auction, dinner set

A benefit gospel sing, auction and dinner for the Cline and Hysell family will be held at 4 p.m. Jan. 12 at the Cutler Community Center. The family had a house fire and lost nearly everything. Singers will include LuLu Mayle, Kayla Sparkman, Kay Cook, Irvin Mayle, Jeff Norman and Tim King. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish. Donations for the auction and family are being accepted.

Archeology event planned at museum

Digging the Past: Archeology Day will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Campus Martius Museum on Second Street in Marietta. The cost is regular museum admission.

The event will include an artifact identification clinic, lectures and flint knapping demonstrations. Private collections of historic and prehistoric artifacts will also be on display. Contemporary items will be on sale for the day.

Life Line screening planned at church

First Baptist Church in Williamstown will host a Life Line Screening Jan. 15 at 431 Highland Ave, Williamstown. Residents living in and around Williamstown can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke or bone fracture. Packages start at $149. All five screenings take 60 to 90 minutes to completed. Pre-registration is required.
