Fire department square dance

The Fearing Township Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a square dance from 8 to 11 p.m. Feb. 2 at the fire station at 1975 Stanleyville Road, Whipple. There will be music by The Buckeye Travelers. The cost is $5 per person, $8 per couple or $12 per family. Refreshments will be served during the dance.

'Manage Your Money' course

The Ohio State University Extension in Noble County will offer the "Manage Your Money" course to assist individuals and families with financial basics. The self-study course begins Feb. 12. The course will help participants know where their money goes, how to save, plan their spending, understand credit limits and how to organize financial records in six weeks. Those who want to take part must register by Feb. 4.

Valentine Dinner Dance for Autism

The third annual Valentine Dinner Dance for Autism will be held Feb. 9 at the Lafayette Hotel's Grand Sternwheel Ballroom in Marietta. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6, a live auction at 7 and dancing at 8.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Aletha's Florist at Second and Greene streets or contacting Nicole Vannoy at 373-5739. All proceeds benefit the Autism Center of Southeastern Ohio.

Workshop about dealing with grief

House Of The Forgiven church, 535 BF Goodrich Road, Marietta will begin a "Walking Through Grief" group in March. The group will meet for six weeks to help those participating with the loss of loved ones. Those that are interested in taking part can contact Pastor Sherry Ritchie at 629-7735.

Soup, sandwich meal at Palmer

A public soup and sandwich meal will be served at the Palmer Community Building on Ohio 676 from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. A variety of soups, sandwiches and desserts will be available for a freewill donation. The event, sponsored by the Palmer United Methodist Church, will benefit the newly installed township fire hydrant as well as Community Building upkeep. Everyone is welcome.
