25 years ago

- The Washington County commissioners decided to establish two more no-wake zones in the Muskingum River. Marietta College crew coach Joe Tewkesbury said that his team won't be able to hold practices or regattas if the zones are enforced.

- The Alan Stone Co. will demolish the Williamstown Bridge in three sections. The bridge should be demolished completely in a two-week period.

100 years ago

- The American Iron & Supply Company has been sold to the Goldish Bros. of La Cross, Wis., who will take charge of the company on March 1.

- The Masonic Club hosted an election of members. M.J. Mosier was re-elected as president.
