A Morgan County man was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Ohio 377 early Saturday morning.
Shaun R. Stanley, 19, of Chesterhill, died after the car in which he was riding ran over an embankment and struck a tree, according to a report from the Marietta Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.
Injured in the accident was Corey Sneider, 33, also from Chesterhill.
He was flown by helicopter to the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, where he was listed in serious condition Sunday evening.
According to the police report, the 2001 Dodge Stratus was headed north on Ohio 377 in Marion Township around 2:47 a.m. when the car went off the left side of the roadway, then re-entered the roadway before running off the right side of the road.
Police said the Stratus became airborne over the embankment, then struck a tree.
Seat belts were not in use, and investigators had not determined Sunday whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Police had also not determined Sunday which man was driving the vehicle when the accident occurred.
