Clifford D. Allen, 74, of Marietta, formerly of Murrysville, Pa., passed away at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 2, 2013) at The Arbors after a 10-year battle with dementia, ultimately succumbing to cancer. He was born on Jan. 28, 1939, in Wilkinsburg, Pa., to Ray and Gladys Riddle Allen.
He was a 1957 graduate of Franklin Regional High School, retired as a maintenance mechanic from Westinghouse Air Brake Company, was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Murrysville, Pa., Sardis Volunteer Fire Department of Sardis, Pa., Murrysville Medic I in Murrysville, Pa., serving as a volunteer paramedic, Crowfoot Rod & Gun Club, and the U.S. Army Reserves. He was most recently a member Gilman United Methodist Church of Marietta.
On Aug. 16, 1969, he married Judith Roberts, who survives with one daughter, Renee (Ben) Caslow of Marietta; two granddaughters, Maureen and Lydia Caslow. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (Feb. 6) at 10:30 a.m. at Gilman United Methodist Church with the Rev. Diann O'Bryant officiating. Cremains will be entombed at later date in East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Tuesday after 2 p.m. with family present from 2 to 4 and 6-8.
