Winter Serenade benefit show Feb. 17

The Winter Serenade Benefit will be held at 3 p.m. Feb. 17 in the Marietta High School auditorium. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at Peoples News in Marietta and Parkersburg, ReSTORE Marietta, The Right Path for Washington County and the O'Neill Center. All proceeds will benefit the Right Path, ReSTORE Marietta, the Colony Theatre and the O'Neill Center. Performers will include Melissa Corcoran, Jennifer Simmons, John Walsh and John Anthony Walsh.

Program on healthy dairy products

Cindy Styer, family nutrition program assistant with The Ohio State University Extension, will visit county libraries this month to teach about healthy dairy products. Participants will have a taste test of different types of milk and receive recipes to flavor milk. Library class dates are Thursday in Barlow, Feb. 20 in New Matamoras and Feb. 25 in Marietta. All classes are at 1:30 p.m.

Steak fry Sat. at Williamstown Legion

American Legion Post 159 in Williamstown will hold a steak fry from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The cost is $8 per person. Entertainment will follow.

Gardening series continues Sunday

Participants in the free Community Gardening Classes at the First Unitarian Universalist Church will build a solar garden cover and a square-foot garden box in Sunday's class. The gardening classes are at 1 p.m. Sundays at 232 Third St. The sanctuary is handicapped accessible from a lift on Putnam Street.

'Carmen Jones' to be shown at library

Adults of all ages are invited to the Marietta location of the Washington County Public Library for a Saturday afternoon matinee featuring the musical "Carmen Jones." The movie will be shown at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 23 in the library meeting room.
