Marianne M. Singree

Marianne Marguerite (Noland) Singree, 79, of Beverly, died at 12:25 p.m. Friday (Feb. 8, 2013) at home with her children after an extended illness.

She was born Dec. 8, 1933, at Swifts, Ohio, the only child of the late Ray (Shorty) Noland and Berna (Pat) Marguerite Henry Noland. Although an only child, she had many fond memories of growing up having 31 first cousins. Marianne was a 1951 graduate of Beverly High School. After graduation, she worked for many years at the Ohio Power Co. at Beverly.

On Nov. 9, 1957, she married George Howard Singree at the Church of Christ parsonage in Beverly. After 49 1/2 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on April 11, 2007. She retired after many years working at Marietta College in 1995.

She is survived by her four children who are left with many memories of special family birthdays, holidays, vacations and the way she made everyday life so special. Linda (Steve) Flowers of Waterford, Shirley Singree of Beverly, Joel (Tawnya) Singree of Beverly and Sharon (Larry) Singree-Fulton of Waterford. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Justin Flowers, Eric Flowers, Wyatt Fulton and "Maggie" Marguerite Fulton, all of Waterford; and five step-grandchildren, Devan Stack, Dylan Stack, Miranda Allen, Amy Huck and Michael Fulton. Surviving is a sister-in-law, Mary Johnson, three nephews and five nieces. For many years she enjoyed taking her grandchildren on family vacations to the Great Smoky Mountains and going to bluegrass festivals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and sister-in-laws, Clyde and Jean Singree, Harry and Bea Singree, George Johnson and Edith Sands.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly. Burial will be in Beverly Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today.
