Charlotte Virginia Cox, 88, of Lowell, passed away on Monday (Feb. 11, 2013) at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 30, 1924, in Roda, Va., daughter of Harmon and Ollie Jenkins Flanary. She lived most of her childhood in Cumberland, Ky.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers. She married the late Norman E. Laughery in September of 1945. She is survived by three children, Judy Laughery Manschreck (Theo) of Boston, Mass., Michael E. Laughery (Alba) of the Republic of Panama and Nancy Laughery of Lowell; two stepgrandchildren, Chris Manschreck of New York, N.Y., and Hiedi Manschreck Berger (David) of Chicago, Ill.; two grandchildren, Rosa Laughery and Eugenie Laughery of the Republic of Panama.
She worked at the Parkersburg Country Club in the 1960s and later managed Lakeside Motel in Beverly. She had a range of interests in world religions, travel, politics, music, biographies and English and Russian History. She also liked spending time on her computer. She loved animals.
