fish fry tonight
The Sardis Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual fish fry every Friday now through March 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the fire hall. There will be fresh coleman fish sandwiches and fish sandwich dinners that include coleslaw and french fries. Homemade pie, cookies, brownies and other desserts can also be purchased. Spring Fling Luau
at Ely Chapman
The Ely Chapman Education Foundation will hold its Spring Fling Luau Carnival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 2 at the foundation, 403 Scammel St., Marietta. There will be a book give-away, food/bake sale, silent auction, country store, quilt raffle and a carnival and reading activities for children.

Fort Frye finance committee to meet
There will be a Fort Frye Local school district finance committee meeting at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the superintendent's office located at Beverly-Center Elementary School, 510 Fifth St., Beverly.
Donkey basketball at Wood Co. Christian
A donkey basketball game sponsored by the Fearing Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Wood County Christian School will be held at 7 p.m. March 5 at the Wood County Christian School, 113 W. Ninth St., Williamstown. Admission is $8 at the door or $6 if purchased in advance. Children under 6 will be admitted free of charge. Tickets may be purchased at the Wood County Christian School office or by calling 350-9534 or emailing fearing08@yahoo.com. Dinner will be served from 5 to 6 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
Free line dance class Fridays at ZK
A free line dance class will be offered Fridays at ZK Fitness, 1402 Colegate Drive, Marietta. There will be a beginner class at 6 p.m. and an intermediate class at 7. The instructor will be Andy Offenberger.
