Dorothy E. Fowler

Dorothy E. Fowler, 92, of Caldwell, Ohio passed away Thursday evening (Feb. 14, 2013) at Summit Acres Nursing & Skilled Rehab. She was born Dec. 9, 1920, in Summerfield, Ohio, a daughter of the late Fred and Etta Brister Yontz.

She was a member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell. She loved to sew, spend time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She could often be found out shopping, going out to eat or working in her flowers. She was a Tupperware Dealer for many years and worked at Gray's Store and later the Clothes Tree in Caldwell.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Fowler, whom she married Aug. 9, 1941, and who passed away June 1, 1988; one son, Robert "Bob" Fowler; two brothers, Harry Yontz and Joe Yontz; and one infant sister, Barbara Jean Yontz.

She was loved and will be missed by her family, two daughters, Barbara (Dave) Reed of Caldwell and Nancy (Dan) Moorehead of Marietta; four grandchildren, Shawn Wiley, Kim Fowler, Nick Fowler and David Reed; five great-grandchildren, Tyler and Collin Wiley, Casey Anderson, Taylor Peters and Brock Reed; step-grandchildren, Jayson, Nikki and Krissi Moorehead, Tammy Hill and Jennifer Reed. She is also survived by several step-great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law as well as additional extended family and friends.

Friends will be received Sunday (Feb. 17) from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West St., Caldwell, Ohio 43724, with a Vigil Service to follow at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday (Feb. 18, 2013) at 11 a.m. at the St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell, with the Rev. Father Wayne Morris serving as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell.
