The Marietta Jaycees are looking for nominations for the "Outstanding Citizen Award," while the Zonta Club of Marietta is seeking nominations for its "Woman of the Year Award." Nominations will be accepted until Feb. 29 and awards will be presented March 7 during the Marietta Chamber of Commerce annual dinner.
The Marietta City Board of Education decided not to put a tax levy for extracurricular activities on the May ballot. The tax levy is expected to be put on the November ballot, but for a smaller amount than first proposed.

The Washington County Chapter of the American Heart Association will host its annual "Wine and Cheese Tasting Party" Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Levee House Cafe.
