Jean Kirkpatrick, 75, of New Matamoras, died Monday (Feb. 18, 2013) at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. She was born June 14, 1936, in Shirley, W.Va., the daughter of Ray and Nellie Shrader Hays.
She was a member of Matamoras First Baptist Church and was a bank manager at First Tyler & Trust Bank and WesBanco in Sistersville. She was a 1954 graduate of Sistersville High School, she was the treasurer of Matamoras Senior Citizens, Matamoras Red Hat and Sistersville High School Alumni Association.
She is survived by her husband, Thurman Kirkpatrick Jr.; one son, Roger Kirkpatrick (Jill); one grandson, Zachary Kirkpatrick (Corey), Reno, Ohio; three granddaughters, Danielle Cisler, Columbus, Ohio, Haylee Harper, St. Marys, W.Va., Kelsey Kirkpatrick, St. Marys, W.Va.; two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Tacey Kirkpatrick; one sister, Berneda May, Copley, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sheri Cisler and son-in-law, Edward Cisler; two brothers, Basil and Kenneth Hays; five sisters, Glenda Smith, Patty Hicks, Vivian Opperman, Sue McKee and Evelyn Petry.
Funeral services will be held at the Hadley Funeral Home Matamoras Chapel on Friday (Feb. 22, 2013) at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rick Smith and Bob Crawford officiating. Burial will be in Matamoras Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hadley Funeral Home.
