The 2013 annual Juried Student Art Exhibition will be held from Friday to March 22 on the third floor of the Hermann Fine Arts Center gallery at Marietta College.
A catered opening reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
The exhibition features work done between February 2012 and February 2013 by students enrolled in a Marietta College art or graphic design class. A variety of media will be represented.
Abby Hayhurst, director of the Parkersburg Art Center, and Steven Hollis, graphic designer at Offenberger and White, will be the jury. A best of show and prizes for outstanding work in each medium will be awarded.
"The annual student show is always one of our favorites in the art department," said Professor Beth Nash, exhibition coordinator. "It is exciting to see the work that students have chosen to exhibit."
Because it is a juried show only half of the submissions are accepted, she said. The event showcases the best work and illustrates the growth and energy of students, she said.
The exhibition and opening are free and open to the public. Regular gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The Hermann Fine Arts Center is handicapped accessible.
