Mervyn Junior Lisk, 80, of Caywood Road, Marietta passed away Wednesday (Feb. 20, 2013) at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta.
He was born near Rinard Mills, on Dec. 11, 1932, a son of the late Samuel and Ella Jane Black Lisk.
He was a retired welder for the Airolite Corporation, Marietta. He was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 0888, Delaware, Ohio. Junior enjoyed pitching horseshoes and was a founder of the Washington County Horseshoe Pitchers Association. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and Ohio State sports.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Weddle; and two brothers, Lester Lisk and John Lisk.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Piatt Lisk, whom he married on July 11, 1953; two sons, Michael (Karen) Lisk and Randall (Christine) Lisk both of Marietta; two brothers, Arthur Lisk and Virgil (Mary Frances) Lisk both of Marietta; four grandchildren, Samuel and Scott Lisk, and Andrew and Allison Lisk.
Friends will be received at the Hadley Funeral Home (Reno Chapel) 1021 Pike St., Marietta, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Roger Rush officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park, Reno, Ohio, with full military services.
