Marietta resident Beverly Schwartz, author of "Playing Sardines," will hold a book signing March 1 at the Betsey Mills Club.
The Marietta Dravo plant has new owners and employment is expected to increase.

Plans for raising the lower business streets of Marietta were formally launched at a meeting of property holders. The current level of Front Street is at 38 feet. The proposal would raise it and like streets to 46 feet.
A large barn belonging to Clarence Smith caught fire and burned down. A large quantity of hay was lost in the blaze.
