- The city has fixed the Matthew Street signs to the correct spelling. The signs with the incorrect spelling will be used in future road projects.
- The city council eliminated a law setting minimum cab rates, so now Marietta taxi companies are allowed to offer discount fares.

- The Washington County Fair dates are fixed for Tuesday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 19.
- The Y.M.C.A. is planning a huge membership campaign. This will be accomplished through dividing the membership into eight baseball teams. The Association is hoping to gain 200 members during the week of baseball games.
