The Putnam Street Bridge is expected to be closed for two months starting on March 28, as long as the contractor receives a needed part. The $173,000 project will replace a deteriorating concrete cap on the western-most pier of the bridge.
The Marietta Lions Club is having a free glaucoma and diabetes screening test 9 a.m. to noon on March 12, and noon to 3 p.m. on March 13.

Messrs. Boyce and Gallagher are offering patrons of the Hippodrome their latest Tabloid Musical Comedy, which features the popular comedian, Arthur Harris. Shows will be performed three times daily, each day next week.
The Marietta High School basketball team defeated Parkersburg High by a score of 61 to 16.
