The Belpre Garden club will host a Golden Jubilee open house on March 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Mullen Memorial Baptist Church. Floral designs by Pauline Collett will be featured.
The Marietta City Board of Education approved the lease of Fairview Elementary to Washington Technical College for three years beginning Aug. 1.

Demolition continues on the Williamstown Bridge. Less than half of the 85-year-old structure remains standing.
The state House of Representatives approved $618.2 million in funding for a new addition to the Washington Technical College campus in the Fairview Elementary school building on Colegate Drive.
100 years ago
While at work at the veneering plant in Williamstown, George Cain's left hand got caught in a jointer and his fingers were chopped off. Cain was transported to the Marietta hospital.
A special conclave of Marietta Commandery No. 50 of the Knights Templar will be held in the Masonic Temple at 7 p.m.
