The last detonation for tearing down the Williamstown Bridge will likely occur in April. The detonation date was pushed back to allow for more time for removal after the last section of the bridge falls.
Marietta Memorial Hospital will offer free poison prevention kits during Poison Prevention Week. The kits are for children ages eight and younger.

A petition asking the City Council to change, raise and re-establish a grade for Front Street from the Ohio River to the First Congregational Church began circulating. The minimum grade will not be less than 46 feet above the zero on the river gauge at the corner of Second and Ohio streets. The petition also states that homeowners will waive all rights and claims for damages resulting in the grade change.
Sheriff Posey appointed William Morrow, of Wesley Township, a deputy sheriff.
