Roger Dan Patterson, also known as "Stompper," 74, of Marietta, passed away Wednesday (March 20, 2013) at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 22, 1938, in Andrews, N.C., to the late Clifton H. and Hazel M. Patterson. Roger was a millwright at The Timken Co. until retirement after 30 years. He was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church and The Ancient Order of Hibernians, member of the Knights of Columbus, loved Celtic music and bluegrass, but his passion was clog dancing.
He is survived by loving wife of 55 years, Patsy Ann Patterson; and two sons, Roger D. Patterson Jr., Rory N. and Shelly Patterson and daughter, A. Kelly and Brian Bowman; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brother, Bob and Barbara Patterson; three sisters, Ruth and Darrell Mason, Betty Teffeteller and Kathleen Coats Packa.
A memorial will be held on Sunday (April 7, 2013) from 1 to 3 p.m. at The Knights of Columbus, 312 Franklin St., Marietta, OH 45750.
