Helen Eileen Haught Robbins Eddy, age 93 and three months, of New Matamoras, passed away Friday (April 5, 2013) at Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Jan. 5, 1920, in Lawrence Township to William T. and Leta B. Clark Haught.

She was married to Willard Robbins on Jan. 10, 1938, at Marietta City Hall. He preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 1957. On Nov. 25, 1965, she married Marvel Eddy, who preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 1977. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Bonnie Sue Cline on March 19, 2004, and Mary Lee Jones on Sept. 21, 2009; one son-in-law, Franklin E. Jones; one brother, Arthur W. Haught; and one sister-in-law, Doris Haught.

She was a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed tending oil wells with her son-in-law, attending her great-grandsons' activities, her two cats and dining and socializing with the friends she made at The New Frontier and Riverview restaurants.

Helen resided in the Wingett Run and Lawrence communities early in life and then the Goose Run community near Marietta. She moved to New Matamoras in October of 1997 just in time to begin her most cherished role as a great-grandmother. She was the last surviving member of Lawrence High School Class of 1937.

She is survived by her son-in-law and caregiver, Darrell R. Cline; son, Wayne E. (Rema) Robbins; three granddaughters, Holly (Chad) Amos, Penny (Bruce) Nichols, and Cynthia Jones; one grandson, Darren (Brett) Jones; two great-grandsons, Blaze and Bryce Amos; and one great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Jones.

Her family would like to give special thanks to the many staff and new friends at the Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Matamoras Emergency Squad or Newport Emergency Squad.

Funeral services will be held at the Hadley Funeral Home in New Matamoras on Monday (April 8) at 2 p.m. with Tim Fleeman officiant. Burial will be made in the Muskingum Valley Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home in New Matamoras on Sunday (April 7) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
