Marietta's 225th birthday has come and gone but there will still be plenty of opportunities for residents to celebrate the history of the Pioneer City during 2013.
Birthday-related events will continue in May and June, with more events likely later in the year as well.
There are plenty of ways still to come for residents, former and present, to pay tribute to the city.
On May 19 there will be an Ohio Historic Bridge Association Washington County Bridge Tour.
June 7 and 8 will bring the Pioneer Palooza, featuring a high-tech treasure hunt called geocaching.
Also on June 8 will be the homecoming for those recreating the Ohio Company's 1788 route to Marietta.
See a special Marietta birthday tab in Friday's Marietta Times for more on those activities.
Other events are also expected to be planned and to pop up throughout the special anniversary year.
Attend as many as you can. Support the city. Bring friends from out of town and show them what a great place Marietta is.
