Ralph E. Mitchell, 74, of Blue Rock, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday (April 16, 2013) at Highland Oaks in McConnelsville.
Ralph was born Dec. 6, 1938, in Meigs Township, the son of the late Otis and Gladys (Wion) Mitchell. He was a lifetime area farmer and the owner and operator of Ralph E. Mitchell Timber Cutting and Ralph E. Mitchell Dozer and Reclamation Services. He was a member of the Ohio Country Western Music Association, an avid supporter of the Go-N-Show 4-H club and he attended the Ark Spring Baptist Church.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (Wilkins) Mitchell, whom he married Aug. 10, 1963; his daughters, Robin (Rod) Ferguson of Philo, Billie Jo (Rusty) Kuhn of Blue Rock and Carla (Keith) Daw of Blue Rock; his brother, Virgil Mitchell of Blue Rock; his sisters, Dorothy Beardsley of Norwich, Bula Dickson of Blue Rock, Edna Allen of Philo and Mary Ruth Hughes of Marietta; his grandchildren, Sadie, Shanae and Kade Daw, Zachary and Mikhayla Ferguson, Mitchell and Matthew Kuhn, Trenda Powell and Geneva Powell a daughter of his heart.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth, Herman and Robert Mitchell; and his two sisters, Edith Cunningham and Donna Weaver.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday (April 18) at Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls, where funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday. He will be laid to rest in Ark Spring Cemetery.
