Two 16-year-old Morgan County boys received medical treatment-one being life-flighted-after being involved in a two-vehicle head-on collision in Morgan County Friday afternoon.
Cole Shankland, of McConnelsville, was traveling westbound on County Road 43 in a 1997 Ford Ranger around 2:40 p.m. when he crested a hill in a curve and collided with the second vehicle.
Shankland sustained serious injuries and was life-flighted to Grant Hospital in Columbus, according to a report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
He was listed in fair condition Monday.
The second 16-year-old driver, Clayton Sobers, of Malta, had been traveling eastbound in a 1993 Ford Ranger when the accident occurred.
Sobers was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville where he was treated and released with non-life threatening injuries, according to the report.
Neither Sobers nor Shankland had been wearing a seatbelt.
Alcohol was not a factor.
