Effie L. Blair, 86, of Marietta, went to be with the Lord at 11 a.m. Sunday (April 28, 2013) at the home of her daughter.
She was born Aug. 12, 1926, in Monroe County, to Roy Lee and Lurena Gustava (Holiday) Wagner. Effie was a member of the Second Congregational Church and loved quilting.
On July 24, 1948, Effie married Pearl Lockhart Jr. She later married Virgil Blair on March 12, 1977. He preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 1989.
She is survived by two sons and four daughters, Jack G. Lockhart of Washington Court House, Rodney J. Lockhart of Marietta, Kathryn L. Munoz of Marietta, Nancy L. Young of Alberton, Mont., Evelyn M. Seevers of Belpre, Jamie Hess of Marietta; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Lockhart; her brother, Reuben Wagner; three infant siblings; and a great-granddaughter, Abigail Tucker.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday (May 2) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Saltzwedel officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
