Laverne Kay Lightfoot, 63, of Lebanon, Ohio died Friday (May 17, 2013) at Bethesda Arrow Springs Hospital in Lebanon.
She was born May 30, 1949, in Marietta, daughter of Thomas G. Gallaher and Marjorie E. Hanson Calvert. She was a truck driver for US Express. She graduated from Marietta High School and Man Power School for accounting. Her favorite charity was St. Joseph's Children's Hospital. She was a member of the United Aerospace Workers Union and the American Trucking Association. She was a lover of music and animals, especially horses.
She is survived by 4 daughters, Kelly Deem of Lebanon, Tanya Lightfoot of Lebanon, Tina Lightfoot of Dayton and Dawn Simms of Baton Rouge, La.; 2 grandchildren, Jon Helton and Lacey Duplesses; a great granddaughter, Eviana Bishop; her father Thomas Gallaher of Florida; 4 sisters, Cecilia Silvus of Reno, Iris Collier and husband, Ronald, of Pleasant Plain, Natalie Roe of Hamilton, and Kimberly Hiett of Youngstown; 3 brothers, Anthony Roe of Gretna, La., Jeff Gallaher and Tracey Gallaher of Cleveland, several other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Evang. Zack Waite officiating.
