Loine Maxine Wells Dent, 92, of Vienna, passed away peacefully May 30, 2013 at the Camden Clark Medical Center Memorial Campus.
She was born in Parkersburg, June 13, 1920, a daughter of the late Charles Brady Wells and Hazel Lillian Hill Wells.
Loine was a member of Wayside Methodist Church and Women's Fellowship, Coterie and past Registrar of James Wood Chapter of the Daughters American Revolution. She was an avid bridge player and loved her crossword puzzles. Loine served her community as Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader, Sunday School Teacher and with Meals on Wheels. At a young age Amelia Earhart inspired her to take flying lessons. Loine began her work career at Wyant and Barr Hardware, Parkersburg. She was also employed at Citizens National Bank, Marietta and the municipalities of Leland, Miss. and Williamstown.
She is survived by children: Barbara Austin, Tom Dent (Joy) and Julia Snead (Ben); grandchildren, Matthew and Elizabeth Austin, Roman Dent, Andrew and Ashleigh Snead
In addition to her parents, Loine was preceded in death by her husband, Thompson 'Tom' Dent; and sisters, Garnet Wells Brethauer and JoAnne Wells Schroeder.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Wayside United Methodist Church with the Rev Pat Kerr officiating.
Memorials contributions may be made in Loine's memory to the Wayside United Methodist Church or the James Wood Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
