On Saturday, residents of the Warren Local school district will have the chance to meet and ask questions of the finalists for the superintendent position there.
It's an important opportunity we think parents, district staff and other residents should take full advantage of.
Members of all the county's school districts often say how important it is for the community to have a voice in decisions and to be informed by the board and administrators about what's happening in the school system.
This is a great example of the board listening to that, and trying to accommodate the public.
Too often, people bypass these opportunities and then complain later.
The board members won't cast their vote on the possible hiring of a superintendent until after community members weigh in, and that's the way it should be.
Just as we hope the public takes the time to attend the meeting, we hope the Warren Local board will take into account the wishes of the people, and what they're looking for in a district leader.
The meeting is at 9 a.m. at Warren High School. Hopefully there is a full house.
