Charles and Carolyn Barnes of Marietta will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house reception from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, at the First Presbyterian Church, Fourth and Wooster streets, in Marietta.
They were married June 16, 1963, at the First Presbyterian Church in Marietta by the late Rev. Alun O. Jones. She is the daughter of the late Oscar and Clara Miller of Fleming and he is the son of the late Richard and Leona Barnes of Marietta.
She retired in December from Washington County CSEA after 26 years of service. He is semi-retired with Peoples Bank having 54 years of continuous service.
They are the parents of two sons and one daughter: Michael and his wife, Wendy, of Bay Village: Matthew and his wife, Annette, of Denver, Colo.; and Michele and her husband, Luke, of Stockport. They have seven grandchildren: Kelsey, Jack and Lydia Barnes of Bay Village; Katie and Emerson Barnes of Denver, and Taylor and Levi Martin of Stockport. A family summer vacation has been planned by their children at Hilton Head, S.C.
Family and friends are invited to attend the celebration. While cards would be appreciated, gifts are thankfully declined.
