Delores Shepherd Reed Hooper

Delores Shepherd Reed Hooper, 88, of Antioch, died at home on Sunday (June 23, 2013) surrounded by her family.

She was born in Middlebourne, West Virginia, Nov. 6, 1924, a daughter of the late Guy Cecil Shepherd and Sarah Elizabeth Tuttle Shepherd

She was a member of the Woodsfield Church of Christ.

Delores was an incredible woman. She loved her flower gardens and roses and was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

Her love, guidance, and faith in God was an inspiration to her Children and grandchildren.

She was Preceded in death by seven brothers, and four sisters.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Charles William Hooper of Antioch, whom she married Oct. 12, 1945; four children, Gene Lemoyne (Oteka) Reed of Newark, Texas, James William (Sue) Hooper of Mechanicsburg, Diana Christine Hamilton of Woodsfield, and Cathy Louise Rist (Lewis Grimes) of New Matamoras; grandchildren, Gene Reed Jr.,and Melanie Reed, Kurt (Renee) and Todd (Missy) Hooper, Michael and Bryan Kahrig, Chad (Sarah) and Carey Rist; great-grandchildren, Levi and Jarett Hooper, Brock Price, Rachael, Andrew and Joshua Kahrig, Erica and Brittany Hooper, Shawn and Shannon Mathis, and Cade Rist; two great-great-grandchildren, Audrey Buchanon and Brylee Price.

At Delores' request, the funeral and burial will be a private event for immediate family only.
